WELCOME Welcome to the website of Australian Labor Party (ALP) members in the Kooyong Federal Electorate Assembly (FEA). We seek to elect ALP members to both the Federal and State parliament as well as local council. We seek to influence ALP policy and reform the ALP from within. There are three local ALP branches in the Kooyong FEA - Hawthorn, Kew and Canterbury. Each of these branches meets once a month. Interested people who live in the Kooyong FEA are welcome to attend a local branch meeting in order to join the ALP. Please contact the relevant Branch Secretary in order to advise of your attendance at the next branch meeting. |
BREAKING NEWS Steve Hurd has produced two fantastic campaign videos. Check them out and share with your family, friends and colleagues. ___ At the launch of Josh Frydenberg's campaign on Monday 9th of August, former Liberal member for Kooyong Andrew Peacock has made some interesting comments. The debacle was covered by the Age and the Sun and all TV news broadcasts. ___ Labor Candidate for Kooyong Steve Hurd joined Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Children's Services Bill Shorten at a morning tea in Prahran on the 9th of August to promote Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week. Bill received a warm reception from parents, meeting children affected by the disease, which affects one child in every 400 born in Australia. The morning tea was organised by the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre, the only centre in Australia dedicated to babies and children with Cerebral Palsy. A re-elected Gillard Labor Government will introduce the Better Start for Children with Disability initiative which will ensure children with disabilities that affect their development have access to intensive early intervention therapies and treatments from expert health professionals. ___ STEVE HURD, THE ALP'S CANDIDATE IN KOOYONG CONTINUES TO CAMPAIGN HARD IN THE LEAD UP TO THIS YEARS FEDERAL ELECTION.
